Why Barack Obama always wants long term solutions when it comes to solving our problems, but was so quick?

Why Barack Obama always wants long term solutions when it comes to solving OUR problems, but did not want wait and gain any experience when in came to HIS presidintial ambitions.

It seems that MY insignificant problems, like $4.70 gas, can wait until 2030, but for himself he demands what he wants HERE and NOW.
